Daily Journal

lesson / review

Today was decent.  I told my self I would hold off for only the best setups.  There was 1 premarket setup I liked.  Energy sector was hot Friday, so I focuest sector rotation there.  I had 1 main bad trade, and it was largely due to slowness in ToS to fill my order.  I saw a sector stock dumping at open, and tried to catch what I thought was the bottom.  My buy order didn't fill, and I decided the stock wasn't gonna go up yet, so I sent a sell order even though my buy order didn't fill.  I couldn't cancel the orders from the trade screen.  I went in to the day's position over view, and canceled the buy order, but the sell order remained and I coudn't cancel it.  Then a few minutes later the buy order filled while the stock was dumping.  I put in a sell order but it didn't fill for a bit.  It was really lame.  These were all market orders so I don't know why they didn't fill. One other order later in the day had slight delays in filling as well, but not as bad as the first one there....

After that I saw some good setups forming and I bought in to them.  I closed the positions as they came close to my targets.
