April 1, 2025 (1 Trade) (+$40.00)

Overall Grade: B

Day Summary: From the start of the day I didn't really feel like i was in the best mindset for trading, but did notice I had a pretty good initial read on the market during the price discovery period of market open. I was a bit distracted and had a few things going on, but started to notice that we were setting up for a potentially good Range Fakeout set up, and considering the uncertainty with the "Liberation Day" tomorrow with Trump Tarrifs, I suspected that a Range Fakeout would be a good play. I took the trade with a good, but scary entry, and was immediately green on the trade, but as soon as I opened the position, I could tell I wasn't ina  good mindset. I felt nervous even though I had a great entry and started watching my p/l, which is not something I normally pay much attention to. After watching quick unrealized profits evaporate, I closed the trade on the next sign of green, even though everything that needed to happen was happening. All in all, it was a good trade but I just wasn't mentally there for it today and I'm very happy that was able to self-recognize that and make the decision to shut it down for the day. That's a win!

Grade: B (due to trade management)

  • perfect, patient entry - waited until the key level instead of jumping the gun
  • traded a set up - good
  • traded for a range day due to uncertainty - good
  • did not follow plan on this trade, target was VWAP area
  • no technical reason to close this trade, but if I wasn't there mentally, I made the right decision to close - good
