May 6, 2025 (4 Trades) (-$27.50)

Overall Grade: B-

Day Summary: Although I finished red today, I was pretty happy with most of my trades. Three of my four trades were trades I was content with, even though one of those trades was my biggest loser on the day (-$111.00). It's funny that I actually got a hit of dopamine after taking my second trade of the day and my biggest L, simply because I followed my plan. I did stop out a bit later than planned, but I took a set up that I was confident in, and it just didn't work. That's trading and I need to be okay with that.

TRADES

Trade 1 - Short 1 MES @ 4 Targets + Intuition + Order Flow

Grade: A

  • had high conviction in this trade, but only entered 1 contract because I was looking for a better entry for the second contract
  • I wanted to add to this trade at the break of the entry candle low but it just felt like a risky area to add even though it played out beautifully
  • did a great job holding my winner and took it off just before target which is ok - still over a 2R
  • I need to remember what it felt like to be in this trade because it was super high conviction and really the only area I screwed up was by not having the balls to add to the position even though it wasn't the best spot to add

Trade 2 - Short 2 MES @ 21 EMA Trap + 4 Targets + Bias

Grade: B-

  • I'm fine with taking this loser as it was taken towards 4 Targets and is a playbooked set up
  • coming off a strong downside move, I thought this would continue down
  • the only things were that I ignored the HL put in just before (price action is king) and that I didn't stop out right where I had planned because of my 4 Targets bias
  • I should have stopped out after another HL was made 4 candles after my entry and closed bullish
  • so ultimately, I am ok with the set up on this trade, just not happy with the trade management
  • after reviewing just now, I do see that this trade was not as good as I origionally had thought just because I did let the stop get away from me

Trade 3 - Short 2 MES @ Order Flow Trap + FOMO

Grade: D+

  • fighting the trend - bad
  • FOMO entry based on the DOM - bad
  • good job stopping out quick to limit the damage
  • overall, unnecessary trade

Trade 4 - Short 2 MES @ Order Flow + Intuition + Key LLevel (Yesterday's LOD)

Grade: B+

  • intuition was strong on this trade after that last pop and even though I was down $100 on the day when I took this trade, order flow was confirming to me that I had it right this time vs Trade 3
  • good job holding winner but ultimately knew I was fighting the trend on this trade and didn't overstay my welcome - good
  • overtrading here and trading later in the session than normal but this was a good trade to end the day on, getting me back to down only $30 on the day
  • I am definitely still showing progress in holding my winners
